nesting loon


One of the guests was able to capture the loon nesting just 30 ft from shore on a bog.

We are happy to report as of today the loon had 2 baby loons and are showing them off for all the guests to see.

I will update with photos of the loons once we have some to share.

the zz fawn groupies




A new trend has taken over in the Seasonal RV section of the resort and seems to be catching on with the rest of the guests.

The ladies are sportin the green hoodies and pick caps, and also the men have caught on to the pink cap look too (temporarily).

Sleeping Fawn in 4th of July Parade

Sleeping Fawn Resort has been a part of the 4th of July parade for 4 years now.

Joe once again dressed up as Uncle Sam on stilts, standing at 10 feet tall. A few seasonal RVer's- Tom, Jim and Katie drove around in the Polaris Ranger sporting the new Sleeping Fawn Logo, and distributed candy to the kids.

Bass haven

Mark and Lynette Wignes and their daughter Amy from Rochester are regulars here at Sleeping Fawn, Enjoy their time up here in June to relax and fish. Mark was the sure winner of the group landing multiple Large Mouth Bass, here are a few of his Bass caught and released.

Sammi,Hunter, Mitch and Katie all attempted to win the Turtle race in Longville MN, no success in doing so, but still a great time.

The Lee family of Dresser WI captured a rainbow on Stocking Lake after the last storm that rolled through over the week. I hope its a sign of Summer approaching soon!

another brush with Tornados within a week.


Park Rapids had another batch of bad weather come through last night, unconfirmed tornado fell north of Park Rapids once again. We have guests here that have never had to seek shelter in the 14 yrs coming up.
One of the guests captured a photo of the cloud formation heading towards Walker and Nevis. (click on image to view full effect)
