The snow has been falling lightly here daily, current measurements at about 3 inches.

Jingle Bells Event a success.

Thursday night was the annual Park Rapids Lakes area Chamber of Commerce Jingle Bells event.
Local participating businesses (the funders ) handed out jingle bell ticket for each $10 spent, in which was placed into the drawing for a chance at $10,000 in cash prizes.
The Event also has fundraisers, a meal of soup/sandwich/beverage for $2.50 and a bunch of door prizes.

Ice depth measurement

Today my neighbor was nice enough to check ice levels on Stocking Lake.
Average measurement was at 7" thick.

New restaurant in Park Rapids!

Both Ellen and I checked out the new Mexican restaurant that opened up in the Armory building off of 71 south in DT Park Rapids.
We both agreed the food service and authentic Mexican setting is top notch. Highly recommend it.

Lake froze over today!

Stocking Lake had frozen over completely today, but with mild weather ahead it will more than likely melt.

Storm over Sleeping Fawn

A storm came over head from the north and produced some winds, hail and rain.
Power outage for two hours.
All back to normal.

Is Stocking lake known for Walleye?

No, but the guests aren't complaining.
Amy of Rochester area had no problem showing off this 28" walleye caught and released.

Yes another walleye was caught and released this week. Jared and his son Alex had a great time showing off this 25" walleye after a few quick photos!

Black bear

We have seen a great number of black bear this season, one of our guests captured a photo of one today around 12:30 in afternoon. Guests have been instructed to be observant of surroundings.

Picture perfect weather

Guests are enjoying a wonderful night fishing off the dock and campfires just before dusk. And don't forget badminton!
